'John Wick Hex' (ALL) Shows You How to Fight Like Wick - Trailer

by Rainier on July 23, 2019 @ 5:11 p.m. PDT

John Wick Hex is a fast-paced, action-oriented strategy game that makes you think and strike like John Wick, the professional hitman of Lionsgate's critically acclaimed film franchise.

Created in close cooperation with the creative and stunt teams behind the films, John Wick Hex is fight-choreographed chess brought to life as a video game, capturing the series’ signature gun fu style while expanding its story universe. Players must choose every action and attack they make, while considering their immediate cost and consequences. Every move in John Wick Hex feels like a scene from the movies, and every fight contributes to your progress on the job and requires precise strategic thinking.

Perform well and progress in the main story mode (which features an original story created for the game) to unlock new weapons, suit options and locations. Each weapon changes up the tactics you’ll use and the manner in which you’ll play. Ammo is finite and realistically simulated, so time your reloads and make the most of weapons you scavenge on the job.

Good Shepherd Entertainment has released a new John Wick Hex featurette showing off how indie developer Bithell Games worked with the stunt team behind Lionsgate’s acclaimed John Wick films to capture the tightly choreographed nuance of the franchise’s signature hard-hitting, close-quarters action.

In the video, John Wick Hex game director and writer Mike Bithell gets a personal martial arts lesson from stunt coordinator Jonathan Eusebio of 87Eleven Action Design, a prominent Hollywood action design production company that has worked on major film properties like the John Wick series, Deadpool 2, Jurassic World and Atomic Blonde. Seeing firsthand how John Wick analyzes a situation and executes a full-force solution with whatever he has available was key to translating the films into a fast-paced, action-oriented strategy experience that lets players become the legendary hitman himself.

Every move in John Wick Hex feels like a scene from the movies: each action you choose has risks and consequences, and each weapon changes the tactics at hand. Ammo is finite and realistically simulated, so time your reloads and make the most of the tools you find on the job. The game hits home with an original storyline expanding the films’ universe, unique graphic noir art design, and the world-class voice talents of Ian McShane, Lance Reddick and more.

John Wick Hex complements the style of the films with a unique graphic noir art design and features the world class voice talents of Ian McShane and Lance Reddick amongst its stellar cast, with other cast for the game to be revealed later.

John Wick Hex is in development for consoles and will be available for PC and Mac exclusively via the Epic Games Store at launch.
